Deer Park School – Kingston upon Thames, Uk
Deer Park School is a brand new primary school in Richmond upon Thames.
The Brief
The goal was to create an artificial tree that would inspire the students. It was the goal to create a tree that the children would idolise. The library has an ‘enchanted woodland feel’ and the tree had to fit in and match this exciting environment.
Our Solution
Working closely with the designer on the project, Ten Sixty-Nine, we captured all the features the tree needed. So that we had complete control over the features and dimensions of the trunk, we opted to fabricated the trunk so that we could achieve a thick diameter also adding gnarled and split features where needed. This enchanted tree needed to be fire retardant, so we used our FR sculpting foam, FR artificial real bark mould coating and FireSilx FR foliage in order to achieve that.
The Outcome
The tree is made exactly to specification, fitting the low ceiling height perfectly. The custom-made table fits aptly around the pre-agreed trunk diameter. We are thrilled to know the children of Deer Park school are delighted with their new tree, and the school looks forward to inspiring its pupils for years to come!
